Wembley Central station

Wembley Central is a railway station in the London Borough of Brent. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 4 on the High Road and is on the one hand served by London Overground commuter trains between London Euston and Watford Junction, on the other hand, on the Bakerloo line of the London Underground. In addition, here trains to the Southern Railway Company. In the year 2011 there were 4.56 million subway passengers the station, added 1.619 million passengers by rail.

When the London and Birmingham Railway opened its main line (now the West Coast Main Line) in 1837, the trains ran through here first. The opening of the station in 1842 under the name of Sudbury. On 1 May 1882 he was renamed in Sudbury & Wembley, on 1 November 1910 in Wembley for Sudbury. The electric suburban trains on the parallel Watford DC Line took their operations on June 15, 1912, those of the Bakerloo Line. A further renaming took place on 16th April 1917 on 5 July 1948, the station was given its present name. The operation of the Bakerloo Line was temporarily suspended on the section north of Stonebridge Park Between the September 24, 1982 and June 4, 1984. In 2006, the station was rebuilt; most important addition is the new footbridge to nearby Wembley Stadium, but which is only open on event days.
