Wenceslaus of Niemodlin

Wenzel von Falkenberg, also Wenzel of Opole - Falkenberg, (* 1340, † 1369 ) was Duke of Opole and since 1362/65 Duke of Falkenberg, which were both a fief of the crown of Bohemia. He came from the Opole Silesian branch of the Piast dynasty.

Life

Wenzel's parents were Bolko II of Falkenberg and Euphemia, daughter of Duke Henry VI Breslauer. Probably before 1355 he was betrothed to Euphemia, daughter of Duke Bolesław of Bytom and Cosel, whom he married in 1364.

After the death of his father 1362/65 took over Wenceslas eldest brother Boleslaw / Bolko the regency over the Duchy of Falkenberg at the same time for the second-born Wenzel and the youngest brother Henry.

After the older brother Boleslaw / Bolko 1367 or 1368 followed the father in death, Wenzel and Henry ruled jointly. However, already in 1369, died without issue Wenzel. As Duke of Falkenberg followed him, the then 16 -year-old brother Henry, with the 1382 went out the direct Falkenberger line of Piast Opole.

Wenceslas widow Euphemia married in second marriage in 1369 with the cathedral Berger Duke Bolko III. She died in 1411.
