Wendling

Wendling is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Gries church on the edge of Hausruckviertel with 801 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Gries churches.

Geography

Wendling is located at 400 m altitude in Hausruckviertel. The expansion is 5.2 kilometers from north to south, from west to east for 4.5 km. The total area is 12.9 km ². 9.3% of the area is forested, 79.1 % of the area is used for agriculture.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Wendling and Zupfing.

Coat of arms

Blazon: Azure, two gold, diagonally crossed swords and fallen, including a silver lily with golden slugs and golden sepals. The coat of arms was awarded to the municipality on 3 March 1980 by the Office of the Upper Austrian government. Origin of the emblem is the decision taken by Georg Stibler on August 28, 1928 in Bad Goisern in poem form Sage " The lily of Wendling ".

The municipality colors are green -yellow-green.

History

The settlement is expected to be made ​​in the 7th century. A naming Vuentilborth or Zuentipolch comes to 925 ( 927 ) in Salzburg Urkundenbuch I.Bd. P.154 ago in De complacitatione Adalungi nobilis Diaconi. By January 9, 1475 was called the spiral Gering and in 1557 Wenndling. A church of St.. Ulrich seems to around 1200-1220. 1508 was carried out on the original Gothic church renovation and enlargement.
