West Atlantic

West Atlantic ( officially West Atlantic AB ( publ) ) is a Swedish logistics group based in Gothenburg. It was formed in 2008 from the West Air Europe and Atlantic Airlines merger. With 35 units, the group has the largest number of BAe ATP aircraft worldwide. The subsidiaries of the Group are Atlantic Airlines, West Air Luxembourg, West Air Sweden, Norway Aviation Services, European Aviation Maintenance, Elite Crew Training and European turboprop management.

History

While the West Air was founded in 1962 and 1995 received its current name, the Atlantic Airlines was founded in 1994 as part of the Air Atlantique Group and was founded in 2001 independently. 2008, the merger of the two airlines followed under the umbrella brand Western Atlantic. In 2011 it was decided that operations of the West Air Sweden to gradually transferred to daughter West Air Luxembourg.

The combined fleet of the group, which is operated by the three subsidiaries Atlantic Airlines, West Air Luxembourg and West Air Sweden, consists of 50 cargo aircraft:
