West Finchley tube station

West Finchley is an aboveground station London Underground in the London Borough of Barnet. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 4 at the Nether Street and is served by the Northern Line. In the year 2011 there were 1.37 million passengers these of the Northern Line station.

Although the U -Bahn here only since the beginning of the 1940s, but the station was built a few years earlier as a holding point of a suburban railway. 1933 opened the London and North Eastern Railway ( LNER ) station on the suburban railway line between Finchley Central and High Barnet, which was established in 1872. As part of the Northern Heights project, the railway line was integrated to High Barnet in the Underground network. The subway began operation on 14 April 1940. During the short time sailed both metro and railway route, the last train of LNER wrong in March 1941.
