Westfield (West Lothian)

Westfield is a village in the Scottish Unitary Authority West Lothian. It is located in the West Lothian West near the river Avon, which marks the border with the neighboring unitary authority Falkirk. Bathgate is located five kilometers south-east, while Falkirk is located about nine kilometers north-west. On a side road of the A801 between Bathgate and Grangemouth the village is connected to the road network.

History

The village developed with a papierproduzierendem operation. The North British Railway was opened in 1855 a railway station in Westfield. Northwest crosses the route across the Scottish monument listed in the highest category A Avon Avon Viaduct. In 1967 the line was deleted without replacement and the station closed. In the year 1991 770 inhabitants were counted in Westfield. This is an increase compared to the 476 residents who were ten years previously recorded.
