What's the Worst That Could Happen?

Worse it's always going! . ( Original title: What's the Worst That Could Happen ) is an American comedy film from the year 2001 was directed by Sam Weisman and written by Matthew Chapman based on a novel by Donald E. Westlake. The film starred Martin Lawrence and Danny DeVito.

Action

The Thief Kevin Caffery ( Martin Lawrence) steals a painting, which belongs Amber Belhaven. Later, he brings back the painting, thus gaining their sympathy. Belhaven Caffery gives the ring of her father.

Caffery and his friend Berger break something later the entrepreneur Max Fairbanks (Danny DeVito ). This was supposed to settle his financial affairs at this time, instead he enjoys himself in his house with a young woman. Fairbanks alerted the police and Caffery is arrested. When the police searched and Caffery Belhavens ring finds him, Fairbanks claims credible, the ring would be his property, whereupon the police gives him the ring

Caffery tries to get back the ring. He and Berger break into the home of Fairbanks in Washington, DC one. There they steal the money, with the Fairbanks some politicians wanted to impress. While Caffery and Berger are still in the apartment, Fairbanks comes home and there is a fight between Caffery and Fairbanks. The ring, the Caffery Fairbanks decreases, but as it turns out later, not the one who has received the Caffery of Belhaven.

Amber wins back the ring by posing as a masseuse and so gain access to Fairbanks. In the last scene we see how Caffery plays a lawyer and Fairbanks helps to deal with the politicians. For fun, he steals his clock.

In the magazine Cinema 12/2001, the film was described as brave horseplay pun dialogues and half-baked slapstick. Only the representations of Danny DeVito and Martin Lawrence were praised.

In filmdienst 25/2001, the absence of subtle tones was criticized. In the magazine TV Movie 26/2001 accused Birthe Dannenberg exaggerated silliness and the operation of numerous clichés, but they also praised the work of the leading actors.
