Wheelbase
The wheelbase is the distance between the axles of a vehicle. An example of this is the distance between the front and rear wheels of a passenger car. The difference between wheelbase and overall length is called overhang.
A shorter wheelbase results in a greater maneuverability of the vehicle, a longer improves straight-line stability. In this case, however, the mass distributions of the considered vehicle and the follower play a role.
