White: The Melody of the Curse

White Mystery is a South Korean film from the year 2011. Was directed by the brothers Kim Gok and Kim Sun. The film opened on 9 June 2011 in the South Korean cinema and had 770 858 visitors.
Action
The four-member girl group Pink Dolls would like to be famous. In the Talentangentur the K- pop group office Eun -ju finds an old videotape. The song on the video is dark and gloomy, but also fascinating. The group performs the song and becomes successful. All members try out to become the lead singer of the group. From this point on, strange things happen. As Eun -ju thinks it has something to do with the music video, she is investigating the case. The girl who is chosen by the agency as the lead singer is suddenly involved in an accident and seriously injured. But the other girls it was made similar to: Je- ni suffered an overdose and commits a suicide attempt by hanging, A- rangs cosmetic surgery goes wrong and Sin -ji "falls" of a crane.
Since only is left Eun -ju, the talent agency considered a new concept and so it shall henceforth solo as White, and is very popular. When Je- ni, A- rank and Sin -ji hosting a music show after her recovery, they begin suddenly during the show to drink detergent and then commit suicide. Later, White is attacked by a spirit in a TV appearance and dies.
Background
White is the first commercial film by Kim Gok and Kim Sun, who were known as independent directors before. Junho of the boy band 2PM has a guest appearance as a presenter, while After School have a cameo as a girl group Pure.
Reception
Todd Rigney of BeyondHollywood.com rated it very positively and compared it with the Japanese horror film Ringu. The film do not change the genre, however, was very entertaining and exciting. The film show a glimpse of the South Korean idol - pop industry and makes them exaggeratedly negative dar.
