Wicker Park, directed by Paul McGuigan is a remake of the French surprise success of Love and Lies ( L'appartement ) from the year 1996.
Action
Matthew has been found in the dancer Lisa love of his life. He tells her that he wants to live together with her forever. The next day Lisa disappeared.
When he believes to recognize them two years later in a bar in his hometown of Chicago, but she hastily disappears, without realizing it, he follows in their footsteps. A map and another man lead him to an apartment, seemingly full of Lisa's belongings and inhabited by a woman named Lisa. But this woman is quite different than the Lisa, which he knows. An embarrassing mix-up leads to a night together, but this new Lisa hides a secret, including that her real name is Alex, and a great love.
It turns out through flashbacks that Alex and Lisa are best friends and Alex had been in love with Matthew.
