Wierchlesie

Wierschlesche, actually Wierchlesch German, Polish Wierchlesie, is a place in Upper Silesia in the municipality of heaven joke ( Jemielnica ) in the powiat Strzelecki in the Opole Voivodeship.

Geography

The village is located northeast of the municipal seat heaven joke.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1282. On April 17, 1361, the town was mentioned as Wierchles.

In the referendum on March 20, 1921 voted 53 voters to remain in Germany and 164 for Poland. Nevertheless Wierchlesch remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived in Wierchlesch 382 inhabitants.

In the wake of the Nazi renaming the local Slavic -sounding Wierchlesch on May 8, 1934 in Hohenwalde OS renamed. High forest is a corresponding translation of the existing place name. 1939 lived in Hohenwalde 395 inhabitants.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Wierchlesie. 1950 Wierchlesch the Opole Voivodeship and the 1999 re-established powiat Strzelecki was assigned. In November 2008, the City also received the official German place names Wierschlesche.
