Wilczany

Wilczany ( German Wolf, Kreis Rosenberg, West Prussia ) is a small village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. It belongs to the rural community Ilawa ( German Eylau ) in Iławski powiat ( county German Eylau ).

Geographical location

Wilczany located south of the Eylauer Lake District (Polish: Pojezierze Iławskie ), 23 kilometers east of the former county town Susz (Rosenberg in West Prussia ) and ten kilometers northeast of the present-day metropolis circle Ilawa ( German Eylau ). The place is about Frednowy ( Frödenau ) on the Polish national road 16 ( Dolna Grupa (low group ) Grudziądz ( Graudenz ) - Iława - Ostróda ( Osterode in East Prussia ) - Ogrodniki to continue the journey to Lithuania ) to reach. The nearest train station is Rudzienice Suskie ( Raudnitz ) on the railway line Toruń - Tschernjachowsk ( Thorn- Insterburg ).

History

The 1945 Wolf Village ( circa 1785 also: Wolf Dorff ) village called consisted at that time of only a few small farms. On May 9, 1874 Wolf Village was in the then newly formed District Tillwalde (now Polish: Tywałd ) incorporated and belonged to the district of Rosenberg in West Prussia ( until 1920 in the district of Marie Werder, 1920-1939 Regierungsbezirk West Prussia, 1939-1945 Danzig- West Prussia ) in the Prussian province of West Prussia, East Prussia in 1920.

In 1910 lived in Wolf Village 77 inhabitants, in 1925 there were 79

On April 1, 1934 Wolf Village lost its independence and was in the rural community Tillwalde (Polish: Tynwald ) incorporated.

1945 Wolf Village was Polish and was given the designation " Wilczany ". It is now in the rural community Ilawa ( German Eylau ) within the powiat Iławski in the Warmia - Mazury incorporated ( 1975-1998 Olsztyn Voivodeship ).

Church

Prior to 1945, was the majority of the population Wolf Village Protestant denomination. Wolf was the parish village in the parish Raudnitz - Frödenau ( Rudzienice - Frednowy ) and belonged to the church district of Rosenberg in West Prussia in the ecclesiastical province of West Prussia, East Prussia after 1922 church, the Church of the Old Prussian Union.

Since 1945 lives almost exclusively Catholic population in Wilczany. It belongs to the parish in Rudzienice ( Raudnitz ) in the Office of the Dean Iława - Wschód ( German Eylau -east) in the Diocese of Elbląg ( Elbing ) of the Catholic Church in Poland. Here surviving Protestant church members are incorporated into the parish Iława, which is a branch church of the parish in Ostróda ( Osterode in East Prussia ) and belongs to the Diocese of the Evangelical - Augsburg Church Mazury in Poland.
