Wilhelm Brem

Wilhelm Brem ( born November 23, 1977 in Buchloe ) is a German athletes with disabilities in the area of Nordic skiing.

Life

Brem grew up in Buchloe and attended elementary school in Ketter exuberance. At age nine, he moved to the elementary and junior high school for the blind to Munich. After graduating, he became a physiotherapist since 2007 at the Olympic Training Center Freiburg, Black Forest operates.

Career

Brem began in 1993 in the field of Nordic skiing. A year later he won his first medal at the 1994 Winter Paralympics in Lillehammer with his former companion runner Gerd Keuer in biathlon, and then in 1996 the first gold medal at the Nordic Ski World Championships of Disabled Persons in 1996 in Sunne.

From 1996 to 2002 accompanied him Olaf Gruhn. With this he took gold in biathlon and 2 silver medals in cross country skiing at the Winter Paralympics in Nagano in 1998 and gold in biathlon and silver in cross-country skiing at the Nordic Ski World Championships of Disabled Persons in 2000 in Sion, and gold in biathlon, and bronze in the long run with Franz Lankes, at the 2002 Winter Paralympics in Salt Lake City.

Also at the Winter Paralympics in Turin in 2006, he won a bronze medal with his accompanying runners Ulrich Zipfel, and in the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Vancouver gold in biathlon 12.5 km along with its accompanying runners Florian Grimm, with whom he runs together since 2007.

His participation for Germany at the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi will be his sixth participation. He already took part in five Paralympics, winning eight medals, including three gold in biathlon.
