Wilkowo Wielkie

Wilkowo Wielkie ( German Great Wolf Village ) is a village in the north of the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and is part of the gmina (Town ) Barciany ( baleen ) in a circle Ketrzyn ( Rastenburg ).

Geographical location

Wilkowo Wielkie is located northwest of the county town Ketrzyn ( Rastenburg ) at the Polish voivodeship 590 of Barciany ( Barten ) about Korsze ( Korschen ) and Reszel ( Rößel ) until after Biskupiec ( Bishop's Castle ) leads. In Wilkowo Wielkie ends a side road from the direction of Winda (Contact ), and also a short road connection from Drogosze ( Dönhoff Städt ) Coming. The nearest train station is Korsze on the railway line from Poznan to Korsze that led up to the year 2000 until the Russian city Schelesnodoroschny ( Gerdauen ) and Drogosze had the closest station.

History

The formerly Great Wolf village called village was founded in 1361. Its name derives from the name Wolffersdorff an old Saxon noble family from the Vogtland. She had been at the beginning of the 14th century, the land of the Teutonic Order. According to her, the family of Rautter was established on Good Great Wolf village.

On April 30, 1874 Great Wolf village formed with seven other municipalities or agricultural estates the newly established office district Dönhoff Städt (also called " Dönhofstädt ", Polish: Drogosze ) in the district Rastenburg in the district of Königsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia. In 1910, Great Wolf village had 132 inhabitants.

1925 parts of Gutsbezirks Dönhoff Städt and the rural community Paaris (Polish: Parys ) umgemeindet to Great Wolf village. On September 30, 1928 finally gave Great Wolf village its independence and became a member of the agricultural estates Dönhoff Städt (without Dönhoff townspeople Forest), Karschau (only Karschauer forest and Ackerexklave, Polish: Karszewo ) and Glittehnen ( Waldexklave, Polish: Glitajny ) to the new rural community Dönhoff Städt ( Drogosze ) together.

As a result of the Second World War came Great Wolf village of the southern East Prussia to Poland and got the place name Wilkowo Wielkie. The place is now part of Gmina Barciany in powiat Kętrzyński in the Warmia and Mazury ( Olsztyn Voivodeship 1975-1998 ).

Church

Church building

Probably as early as the end of the 14th century there were in Great Wolf village church. 1589 the building had to be largely demolished due to disrepair. 1593 was a new building inaugurated.

Parish

Already in pre-Reformation time Great Wolf was a village Kirchdorf. It belonged since the Reformation from 1543 to 1618 as a branch church at Paaris (now Polish: Parys ). After Great Wolf village a parish in the Church District Rastenburg ( Kętrzyn ) within the Ecclesiastical Province of East Prussia the Church of the Old Prussian Union, from 1874 to Dönhoff Städt ( Drogosze ) was associated with a parish until 1945, which had its seat in Dönhoff Städt (formerly Reformed Church ).

Since 1945, Catholic inhabitants live mostly in Wilkowo Wielkie. It now belongs to the parish Drogosze ( Dönhoff Städt ) in the Office of the Dean Reszel ( Rößel ) in the Archdiocese of Warmia of the Catholic Church in Poland. Here resident Protestant church members are in the church community Barciany ( Barten ) the parish, which is a branch church of Ketrzyn ( Rastenburg ) within the Diocese of the Evangelical - Augsburg Church Mazury in Poland.

Until 1618, the pastor of Paaris were (Polish: Parys ) responsible for large wolf village, then a separate parish with its own priest was. From 1874 to 1945, the official residence of the then united parish of Great Wolf Village Dönhoff Städt in Dönhoff Städt ( Drogosze ). It worked as a pastor:
