William Alexander Levy

William Alexander Levy (* 1909, † 2 June 1997 ) was an American architect.

William Alexander Levy studied at New York University and was influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright. His most famous building is the Hangover House, which he and planned in 1937 in Laguna Beach ( California ) on Ceanothus Drive (number 31172 ) for Richard Halliburton and Paul Mooney himself. After Halliburton and Mooney were lost at sea in 1939, the estate passed in 1941 or 1942 for $ 9000 in the possession of Wallace and Scott Zolite over. The Scott family kept the house virtually unchanged. After the death of the last family members Zolita Scott in 2009 it was offered at a price of $ 5,000,000. Levy's building is considered one of the greatest works of modern architecture in Orange County. The inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places and the California Register of Historic Resources is driven by the South Laguna Civic Association.
