William Cox (athlete)

William Cox ( John William "Bill" Cox ;) ( born June 12, 1904 in Rochester, New York; † 3 June 1996 in Webster, New York) was an American middle and long distance runners.

In the team race over 3000 meters of the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924 he came to eighth and won with the U.S. team bronze.

As a student at Pennsylvania State University, he was in 1926 and 1927 IC4A champion in cross country, 1927 mile run and 1927 and 1928 ( with his personal best time of 4:18,6 min) over a mile in the hall.
