William F. Walsh

William Francis Walsh ( born July 11, 1912 in Syracuse, New York, † January 8, 2011 in Marcellus, New York ) was an American politician.

Walsh attended the St. Bonaventure College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1934. 1939 to 1940 he attended the Catholic University School of Social Work. At the University of Buffalo in 1949, he received his Master of Arts. Previously, Walsh had served from 1941 to 1946 in the United States Army.

Walsh was elected in 1961 as mayor of Syracuse. In 1965 his re-election. He held that post until 1969. 1968 Walsh was a delegate to the Republican National Convention and was in 1970 at the New York State Public Service Commission as a member. He was elected as a Republican to the 93rd Congress in 1972 and represented in the U.S. House of Representatives from 3 January 1973 to January 3, 1979 New York State. In 1978, he did not run for a seat in the 96th Congress. Walsh last lived in Syracuse.

His son James T. Walsh from 1989 to 2009 to be a deputy in the U.S. House of Representatives.
