William J. Reiter

William " Billy" J. Reiter ( born August 16, 1889 in Richmond, Virginia; † September 29, 1979 in Hollywood, California ) was an American assistant director, who was nominated for the Academy Awards in 1934 for an Oscar for best assistant director.

Biography

Reiter began in 1920 as an assistant director at The Man Who Had Everything his career in the film industry in Hollywood and was involved in the creation of twelve other films like The Black Cat (1934 ) by Edgar G. Ulmer.

At the Academy Awards in 1934, he was among the nominees for the only a few years awarded Oscar for best assistant director.
