William M'Intosh

William Carmichael McIntosh ( born October 10, 1838 in St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland, † April 1, 1931 ) was a Scottish physician and zoologist.

McIntosh was from 1882 to 1917 professor of natural history at St. Andrews University.

He was a member of the Linnean Society of London, the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Corresponding Member of the Zoological Society. In 1877 he was elected a member ( "Fellow" ) of the Royal Society. In 1899 he was awarded the Royal Medal of the Royal Society and the Linnean Medal in 1924.
