William W. Snow

William W. Snow (* April 27, 1812 in Heath, Massachusetts, † September 3, 1886 in Oneonta, New York ) was an American politician. Between 1851 and 1853 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

William W. Snow was born about two months before the outbreak of the British - American War in Franklin County. He attended public schools. He then completed an apprenticeship as Wollkardierer and Cloth Dresser. In 1831 he moved to Oneonta in Otsego County. He was active in Wollkardiergeschäft 1841 and entered 1842 in the tin and hardware store. He also went to agricultural activities. In 1844 he sat in the New York State Assembly. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party.

In the congressional elections of 1850 for the 32nd Congress Snow was in the 21st electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Hiram Walden on March 4, 1851. He retired after the March 3, 1853 out of the Congress.

In 1870 he was back in the New York State Assembly. He was supervisor in 1873 and 1874 in Oneonta. In 1877 he held the position as State Excise Commissioner. He sat in the Village Board of Trustees. He also worked in the banking business. He died on 3 September 1886 in Oneonta and was then buried in the Riverside Cemetery.
