Windygates

Windygates is a village north of the River Leven in the Scottish unitary authority Fife. It is located six kilometers east of Glenrothes and 25 km north- north-east of Edinburgh. In 2001, the population was 1645. Windygates was an important waypoint on the route between Nordfife and ferry across the Firth of Forth.

With active since 1824 Cameronbridge distillery, the international company Diageo operates in Windygates one of the largest whiskey distilleries in Scotland.
