Witches of East End (TV series)
Witches of East End is an American mystery series based on the eponymous purchaser by Melissa de la Cruz. The television series starring Emmy Award winner Julia Ormond in the lead role is produced for the television channel Lifetime since 2013. It tells the story of a witch who must reveal their daughters that they come from a family of witches. The first broadcast took place in the United States on October 6, 2013 Following Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime.

Action
Family Beauchamp appears like any other at first glance. But matriarch Joanna and her sister Wendy are witches. However, Joanna concealed this to their grown-up daughters Freya and Ingrid, who have since she was born with magical powers. Freya is a fun-loving young woman who works in a bar and has just got engaged only with the wealthy playboy Dash Gardiner. But she also feels the enigmatic Killian, the brother of Dash attracted. Ingrid, however, is shy and reticent and works as a librarian.
One day, surprisingly emerged Wendy again and brings her sister a warning. This warning forcing Joanna to her daughters that they must tell the truth: they are immortal witches. The idyllic life in the Hamptons is over, because an ancient enemy wants to delete the Beauchamp family forever. So it is up to Freya and Ingrid to save her family and friends.
Production
July 19, 2012 Lifetime ordered a pilot episode based on the novel " Witches of East End " by Melissa de la Cruz. As a producer Maggie Friedman, who was already involved in the Witches series Eastwick, and Erwin Stoff committed. Produced to be 21 by the production company Fox.
End of January 2013 we ordered a first season with ten episodes for the fall of 2013. Due to satisfactory ratings, the transmitter was the end of November 2013 a second season commissioned, which will consist of 13 episodes.
Casting
30 August 2011 Headline Hollywood reported that Emmy winning actress Julia Ormond received the lead role of Joanna Beauchamp. For Ormond television series is her first series starring role at all. A few days later, Jenna Dewan - Tatum, Patrick Heusinger, Daniel DiTomasso and Rachel Boston received more starring roles in the series. Also in September 2012, Nicholas Gonzalez joined the project. One last lead role was in October 2012 at Mädchen Amick, which will embody the role of Wendy, Joanna's sister.
After series order the roles of Heusinger and Gonzalez were newly appointed. Eric Winter replaced Heusinger and the role of Gonzalez went to Jason George. Virginia Madsen has been cast in a story arc.

The series premiere was held on 6 October 2013. The pilot episode wanted to see 1.93 million viewers and the second best series starting in 2013 by Devious Maids. In the following weeks, the ratings remained fairly stable. The first season finale was on 15 December 2013, 1.74 million viewers. Together with the time-shifted television came the first season to an average of 3 million viewers.
The second season is scheduled to air in fall 2014.
In England, the series ran on November 5, 2013 on Lifetime UK and in Australia it should be 2014 broadcast on Eleven.
The pilot episode is scheduled to air on April 27, 2014, to the free-TV television station Sixx. The regular transmission is planned for May 1 on the same channel.
