Wobbler (Band)

Wobbler is a retro -Prog band from Norway.

Band History

The group was founded in Hønefoss 1999. She is influenced by bands such as Gentle Giant, King Crimson, Genesis, Premiata Forneria Marconi, Museo Rosenbach, anecdotes and Änglagård and published in 2003 two demo recordings on the internet that were very well received in the international progressive rock scene. Subsequent invitations to various festivals and first reports in the fanzines of the scene. In 2005, the musicians brought keyboardist and mastermind Lars Fredrik Frøislie released their first official album hinterland. Just four years later, in early 2009, Afterglow, for the most part old song material followed (including the above two demo tracks ) contained. In May 2011 the third album Rites at Dawn appeared. Only a few weeks later, the band announced on their Facebook page the departure of their longtime guitarist Morten Andreas Eriksen.

Music

The compositions and the sound of wobblers are based very much on the classic progressive rock bands of the 1970s. Their musical style is thus described as retro prog.

The musicians are placing greater emphasis on the use of original equipment from the 1970s, including Rickenbacker Bass, Mellotron, Hammond organ, Hohner Clavinet, Fender Rhodes, Moog synthesizer and ARP Solina String Ensemble.
