Wojcieszów

Wojcieszów ( German purchase Fung ) is a town with 3940 inhabitants ( 2006) in south-western Poland. It is located in powiat Złotoryjski in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and is part of the euro area at Neisse.

Wojcieszów located in Kaczawskie Mountains on the Kaczawa ( Toth ), about 20 kilometers east of Jelenia Góra. The city is known for buying five fingers marble, which was installed among other things in the Sanssouci Palace. In the area there are many caves in the limestone. There are deposits of basalt, limestone and sandstone, which are used for the construction and road building industry. Poland's richest deposits of agate, which is characterized by an unusual color scheme, is located here. There were also deposits of gold sand and gravel, which are now removed.
