Wölbling is a market town with 2438 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Sankt Pölten- Land in Lower Austria.

Geography
Wölbling is in the Most district in Lower Austria. The area of the municipality covers 32.26 km ². 55.43 percent of the area is forested.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Ambach, Anzenhof, Home, Lander village, knobs village, Oberwölbling, Ratzersdorf and Unterwölbling.
History
In ancient times, the area was part of the province of Noricum. In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying the place told the eventful history of Austria.
Partner community since July 2005, the Upper Bavarian municipality of Berchtesgaden. Both share an exchange transaction between the Archbishop of Salzburg and the Provost of Berchtesgaden in 1155th
At the heavy fighting in the last weeks of the Second World War in April and May 1945 reminded the military cemetery Oberwölbling, in which more than 4,000 casualties were laid to rest.

The council has 21 seats, mayor of the municipality is Gottfried Krammel.
In the municipal elections of 2005, the SPÖ reached 11, the ÖVP and the FPÖ 9 1 mandate. In the municipal elections in 2010 there were no mandates shifted.
In the market there are local council after the local elections in 2005 with a total of 21 seats following distribution of seats: 11 SPÖ, ÖVP 9, FPÖ 1, no other seats.

The Fladnitztal - cycle path as circular route through the communities Obritzberg -Rust, Statzendorf, Wölbling and Karlstetten and is manageable even for inexperienced cyclists.
