Asperhofen

Asperhofen is a market town with 2134 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Sankt Pölten- Land in Lower Austria.

Geography

Asperhofen is in the Most district in Lower Austria, 6 km north of Neulengbach, on the edge of the forest as well as the reel Tullnerstraße B 19 to Tulln. The area of ​​the municipality covers 28.85 square kilometers. 20.87 percent of the area is forested.

Asperhofen is a member of the Vienna Woods region initiative.

History

In ancient times, the area was part of the province of Noricum. After the final conquest of the Avar by the Frankish emperor Charlemagne in 803 began the colonization of the villages Siegersdorf and Wimmersdorf. The resulting locations were now in the field of Baierischen eastern country. The first mention was made in the year 1037. 1972 several surrounding municipalities were amalgamated with Asperhofen. The market survey was conducted in 1987.

  • State Garden Asperhofen: In the northwest Asperhofens guests since 1995 the State Garden Asperhofen. The way through is designed as round and takes about half an hour.   • Wilhelm Kisser Jubiläumswarte: In May 2001, was built by the mountain and park rangers Asperhofen and from the market town Asperhofen on the hill (254 m above sea level) of the country garden Asperhofen an observation tower to mark the 25th anniversary of the mountain and park rangers Asperhofen. The observation tower was named after the late September 2004 Wilhelm Kisser.
