Wonderstrands

Furdustrandir is a stretch of coastline on the northeast coast of North America, which was entered in the year 1000 by a Greenlandic - Icelandic expedition in search of Vinland. The name means something like miracles beaches; the Norsemen and women called him that because it was a particularly long sandy beach area and they were not known so long, sandy beaches, from Greenland and Iceland. It is unclear whether it was after the presentation of the Northmen to a part of Markland.

About the trip the group to Thorfinn Karlsefni after they had spotted Markland and circled a cape, according to the saga of Eirik RAUDA:

There was a chap on which they snaking their. They crossed along the country and left it on the starboard side. ( Then ) there was a harbor -free coastal land, and long sandy beaches. They traveled in boats ashore, and found the keel of a ( stranded ) ship and called this place Kjalar - nes ( keel? ). They named the beaches, and gave them the name Furdustrandir ( miracle beaches), because it was time consuming to sail past them. Then the coast was booked richer, because of (smaller) streams ( " Creeks " ), and they steered their ships along these watercourses.
