Wonderwall (Band)

Wonderwall is a German pop band. The occupation changed in the short band history often, and the only remaining founding member Ela Paul.

Career

Jule and Kati got to know the ballet, Kati and Ela knew each other from school and began to make music together as a hobby on acoustic guitars. During this time, around the age of twelve years, they called themselves McDowell Brothers, wrote English lyrics and thought to himself guitar handles. A common play is learned then all three know and then went to third on. They played their songs at garden parties and local events in the Cologne area. By chance, they came to a producer who met their expectations.

The first single Witchcraft was published in May 2001 and reached number 77 in the singles charts. The following reviews ( Who Am I? , November 2001) did not reach the charts.

The breakthrough by means of a cross-promotion with the ARD series Marienhof than JustMore was several weeks played in the soap opera of the ARD. This contributed significantly to the group and to make known JustMore to Wonder Walls hitherto biggest hit. The single Just More was released in May 2002. You rose to ninth place in the German single charts and then survived three weeks at number two.

The first album, Witchcraft, which was published shortly afterwards, came in at number four in the German album charts. In September 2002, the single reached fourth place in April 33 in the charts. Then the three went with Ronan Keating as his opening act on a European tour. In the Echo Awards 2003 Wonderwall were nominated four times and have won best newcomer nationally. The second album (What Does It Mean? ), The Ela and Kati published in November 2003, reached only number 48 of the album charts. The recently published nor Jule Single ( One More ) Song for You was less successful.

In January / February 2004 Ela and Kati went first with her band The Mighty Sleepwalkers on tour in Germany. In March 2004 the single Silent Tears was published. With this title Wonderwall competed at Deutsche preliminary decision to Euro Vision Song Contest 2004 and there occupied the fourth place.

On April 8, 2004 it was announced that Wonderwall their previous label, the Warner subsidiary WEA, leave and will henceforth be at the company Seven Days Music by producer Jack White under contract. Worked together with the film composer Hans Zimmer Wonderwall then on the music for the animated film Lauras Stern, a German production that was released in theaters on September 23, 2004. For this, they composed, among others, the title song Touch the Sky, which was published on 20 September 2004 as a single release. In autumn 2004, published Wonderwall their third album Come Along, and 3 March to 2 April 2005, Wonderwall together with her band on their second tour of Germany, the come -along tour that ran through 14 cities. Ela and Kati have for the audio book series Naughty girls - naughty audio books, published by The Audio Verlag, contributed to several audio books, for which they each contributed music and where they took speaking roles.

In 2008 there was a foundation consisting of Elah, and the new band members Jana and Jessy. In November 2009, their first single This Is Christmas has been published. Since 2011, the group consists only of Ela and Jessy. On 13 May 2011 the single Me and the City was released.
