Wool Church

Wool Churches, so wool churches, is the common name for a number of large and magnificent parish churches in villages and small towns of England, built in the late 15th to early 16th century Tudor style. The designation of this late Gothic churches is because they were financed by income from the wool trade, which led to the time in parts of southern England to great prosperity.

Wool Churches are available in several counties:

• Gloucestershire, the Cotswolds, then in Chipping Campden, Cirencester and Northleach
• Norfolk, where in Attleborough, Aylsham, Cawston and Diss (in Wymondham citizens only built a new tower at the Norman church )
• Suffolk, there Lavenham and Long Melford,
• East Sussex, there in Horsham.
