Worker's Marseillaise

Otretschomsja ot starowo mira (Russian Отречёмся от старого мира = Let us condemn the old world ), also called simply Марсельеза ( Marseljesa, Marseillaise ), was the Russian national anthem of February until November 1917, when Russia under after the February Revolution of the Provisional Government Prince Georgy Lvov and Alexander Kerensky was ruled. She remained there until the October Revolution.

The song - the text of Pyotr Lavrov was first released on July 1, 1875 - is sung to the tune of the Marseillaise. It is however by no means a literal translation of the French national anthem.
