Workforce (horse)

Workforce is a drawn from Juddmonte Farms and trained by Michael Stoute Thoroughbred horse. His greatest successes were his victories as a three year old at the Epsom Derby and the Prix de l' Arc de Triomphe 2010.

At his Derby victory on 5 June 2010 improved workforce the pre-existing track record on the Epsom Downs by over a second on 2:32,31 seconds and outclassed the competition by a margin of seven lengths. After a less good performance in the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes on July 24, his owner had him yet walk in the Prix de l' Arc de Triomphe, he could decide ahead of its Japanese competitors Nakayama Festa for itself with one head.

Unlike many winners of the English Derby he was four years old not yet in breeding, but remained in training. In May 2011 he won the Brigadier Gerard Stakes is a Group 3 race and was then beaten only by the Australian champion So You Think in the Eclipse Stakes. A second attempt in the "King George " he finished in second place. In October 2011, he was only twelfth after unfortunate course of the race in his attempt to defend the title of unofficial world champion at the distance of one and a half miles in the Prix de l' Arc de Triomphe. In this race prevailed in Germany, trained by Peter Schiergen mare Danedream.
