World Federation for Chess Composition

The World Federation for Chess Composition ( WFCC; until 2010 Permanent Commission for Chess Composition with FIDE officially english: Permanent Commission of the FIDE for Chess Compositions; PCCC ) is the umbrella organization of the FIDE for chess composition.

Organization

The organization has 39 states, each assigned a delegate as a Commissioner (as of 6 August 2003). Organisational head of WFCC is the President, which a consultant and three Vice - Presidents help. Such elections are held every four years.

President

Previous presidents were Neukomm Gyula (1956-1958), Nenad Petrović (1958-1964), Comins Mansfield (1964-1972), Gerhard Jensch (1972-1974) Jan Hannelius (1974-1986), Klaus Wenda (1986-1994), Bedrich Formánek (1994-2002), John Rice (2002-2006), Uri Avner (2006-2010) and Harry Fougiaxis (since 2010).

President, whose term of office has ended, may be appointed as Honorary President ( Honorary President). Honorary Presidents are Bedrich Formánek (Slovakia ), John Rice ( UK ), Klaus Wenda ( Austria ) and the late January Hannelius (Finland).

Member States

The following countries are members of the PCCC (as of 4 September 2007 ): Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia - Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Sweden, Switzerland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary and the United States.

Tasks

The tasks of the WFCC include, among others, the title was awarded to chess composer, based on the tasks in the co- managed by the WFCC FIDE albums. The title for solver and as International Jury awarded by the WFCC. The WFCC also sets the rules for chess composition, the Code fixed.

Other objects of the WFCC are to promote chess composition, organization of composition and solvent Championships and the publication of collections of general interest, which include the FIDE Albums.

History

The Permanent Commission of the FIDE for Chess Compositions was founded in 1956, among others, Nenad Petrovic, who also in 1958 had the idea of ​​FIDE albums. Since the foundation is an annual meeting of the chess composer, World Congress of Chess Composition ( WCCC, to German: World Congress of Chess Composition ) instead. In 2010 she was renamed the World Federation for Chess Composition.
