World Mind Sports Games

The World Puzzle games ( "World Mind Sports Games" ) are a conducted since 2008 multi-sport event for the thinking sports Bridge, Checkers, Go, Xiangqi and Chess. It is planned this every four years unsubscribe in as temporal and spatial proximity to the Olympic Games.

Idea of ​​creation

History

From 3rd to 18th October 2008, the first World Puzzle Games were held under the auspices of the General Association of International Sports Federations ( GAISF ) and under the direction of the International Mind Sports Association ( IMSA ) in Beijing. They are assisted by the IOC next to the Olympic and Paralympic Games the expression of the Olympic idea for Puzzle Games. It was organized by the Beijing Sports Bureau of China National Organization for board and card games.

The 2nd World Puzzle Games were held in Lille from August 9 to 23, 2012. The Puzzle species represented were the same as four years ago in Beijing.

Medal Tally

In the first World Puzzle games, there were a total of 35 gold medals: 9 for bridge, chess for 10, 6 for Go 5 for lady and 5 for Xiangqi.
