Wyoming State Fair

The Wyoming State Fair is a large agricultural fair with Rodeo, which takes place every year in August in Douglas in Converse County of the U.S. state of Wyoming. The exhibition lasts seven days and is in the Wyoming State Fair Park to the fairgrounds at West Yellowstone Highway, right on the North Platte River is home. In addition to the rodeo, there are numerous competitions in the different categories, mainly related to agriculture. There is also a great culinary offer and performances of local and nationally known artists, especially from the country and western area.

History

The first agricultural fair of the State of Wyoming located near Cheyenne in 1886 as a First Annual Wyoming Territorial Fair held. In the following years there were similar events in Laramie, Sheridan and Casper. After Douglas 1905 venue was in the year, the event was finally there. Only in the years 1935 to 1937 there are no exhibitions were held due to the financial constraints during the Depression and in the years 1942 to 1945 because of the Second World War.

Miscellaneous

The exhibition will be officially recognized by the Wyoming Department of Agriculture. This office maintains a separate department for this event.

During the exhibition, there are about 455 campsites at the fairgrounds, the number of normal parking is very limited.
