Yevgeniya Kanayeva

Evgenia Kanaeva Olegovna (Russian Евгения Олеговна Канаева; born April 2, 1990 in Omsk, Soviet Union) is a Russian rhythmic gymnast and Olympic Champion. 2009, she was athlete of the year in Russia.

Biography

Childhood

Kanaeva grew up in the city of Omsk as the daughter of a former gymnast and a wrestling coach. My brother is living there wrestler. Sporty rise

In the following two years she dominated the international gymnastics world and won almost continuously gold medals at the European and World Championships in 2010 and 2011. In the 2012 Summer Olympics, she starts as the favorite for the overall victory in singles.

End of the athletic career

After she did not return to London began training after the Olympics, Eugenia Kanaeva declared in December 2012, the end of their sports career. In the same month, she was appointed vice-president of the Russian Gymnastics Federation.
