Yolla, Tasmania

Yolla is a rural community in north-west Tasmania. 2006, the place had 198 inhabitants.

The area around Yolla is dominated by agriculture and dairy farming. In addition, tourism plays an increasingly important role.

History

The area was settled in the 1880s, first. 1881 a post office with the address of Camp Creek was opened, which was renamed in 1906 in Yolla. The term stands in the language of the aborigines for the short-tailed shearwaters.
