Yoo Sang-chul

Yoo Sang- chul ( born October 18, 1971 in Seoul) is a South Korean football manager and former football player.

Career

As a player

Association

Yoo Sang- chul began his career at Ulsan Hyundai. With the team he already won in his third season for the first time the championship title in the K League and was at the same time with 14 goals scorer. For the 1999 season, he moved to Japan to Yokohama F. Marinos, before moving to Kashiwa Reysol 2001. For the 2002 season, he returned to Ulsan Hyundai, but changed only been back a year later to the Yokohama F. Marinos. There he won in the 2003 season and 2004 the champion of the Japanese league. From 2005 to 2006 Yoo Sang- chul played again at Ulsan Hyundai, where he also finished his career. He was with the team again in 2005 Korean champions. In the seasons 1994, 1998 and 2002, Yoo Sang- chul was chosen in each case in which eleven of the season the K League.

National

For the South Korean national football team Yoo Sang- chul completed a total of 122 games and scored 18 goals. He participated among others in the football world championships in 1998 and 2002. In 2002, he finished fourth with the team and was appointed to the All- Star team of the tournament. In 2004 he took part equipped with a wildcard in the Olympic Football Tournament and reached the quarter-finals. In the years 1996 and 2000 he also took part in the AFC Asian Cup.

As a coach

After the end of his active career as a player Yoo Sang- chul was a football coach. From 2006 to 2009 he was manager of UBI FC from 2009 to 2011 from Chuncheon Mech Tech HS. On 20 June 2011, he moved to the Daejeon Citizen in the first Korean league. On 1 December 2012, he was discharged after a total of 56 games.
