York Mills (TTC)

York Mills is an underground subway station in Toronto. It lies on the Yonge- University - Spadina line of the Toronto Subway, at the intersection of Yonge Street and Wilson Avenue / York Mills Road. The station, which has a central platform, is used daily by an average of 27,260 passengers (2009 /10).

It offers connecting flights to seven bus lines that run from an underground bus station. In addition, commuters is a park -and-ride with 260 parking spaces. Just south of the station passes under the line the western arm of the Don River. It was originally planned to build the station above ground and crossing the river by a bridge. However, protests by local residents then forced an underground leadership.

The opening of the station on 31 March 1973 in conjunction with the section Eglinton - York Mills. Nearly a year here was the northern terminus, until the opening of the section by Finch on March 30, 1974. Actually had in 1973 the entire stretch of Eglinton by Finch to be opened, but did strike a careful stage planning necessary.
