Yoshifumi KondÅ
Yoshifumi Kondō (Japanese近藤 喜 文, Kondō Yoshifumi; born March 31, 1950 in Gosen, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, † 21 January 1998 in Tachikawa, Tokyo Prefecture, Japan ) was a Japanese animator who worked in his last years for Studio Ghibli. There he worked on the films Anne of Green Gables, Sherlock Hound, Kiki's Delivery Service, Grave of the Fireflies, Only Yesterday - Only Yesterday and Princess Mononoke. Kondō also directed Whisper of the Heart.
Kondō died in 1998 of an aneurysm. His death to have been caused by overwork and the main reason for Hayao Miyazaki's temporarily announcement to retire.
Career
- April 1965: Entry into Muramatsu High School, where he is a member of art clubs and cooperates with the later mangaka Kimio Yanagisawa.
- April 1968: After finishing school, he moved to Tokyo, where studied at the Tokyo Design College Animation.
- October 1, 1968: Kondō is at A Production ( formerly Shin'ei Doga ) employed and participates among others in the production of Kyojin no Hoshi and Lupin III.
- June 20, 1978: Kondō changes to Nippon Animation, where he works on Future Boy Conan and Anne of Green Gables.
- 1978: Operated as a co-author of a textbook for expectant Animator Animation Book (アニメーション の 本Animēshon no Hon ).
- December 16, 1980: Changes to Telecom Animation Film, where he is character designer for Sherlock Hound.
- March 16, 1985: Kondō gives up his job at Telecom Animation Film and is admitted from June to August because of a pneumothorax in a hospital.
- January 1986: Will set at Nippon Animation.
- January 1987: Changes to Studio Ghibli.
- 1995: Makes his director debut with the film Whisper of the Heart.
- January 21, 1998: Kondō dies in city hospital Tachikawa located in Tokyo at the age of 47 years to an aneurysm.
