Youth Brigade (Washington, D.C. band)

Youth Brigade was a briefly existing hardcore punk band from Washington, DC / USA.

History

The band was founded in early 1981 by Danny Ingram and Nathan Strejek of the Untouchables and was one of the bands of the first wave of the Washington DC Hardcore. Bert Queiroz, also from the Untouchables, rose a little later as a bass player. With Tom Clinton is quickly found a guitarist.

After their performance at a restaurant called Food for Thought, the group played more shows and opened the concert for gambling on tour Black Flag, among other things, along with Minor Threat.

The end of 1981, the band finally dissolves again appeared after a EP their only release on Dischord Records. The plate, which actually has no name, is later called Possible due to an announcement Flyers of the label.

Style

The band played typical fast, hard - in parts a little more simple and rough - Washington DC hardcore. Comparisons arise with the bands of the environment, such as Minor Threat or SOA.
