Yuko Sano

Yuko Sano (Japanese佐野 优 子, Yuko Sano, born July 26, 1979 in Takatsuki, Osaka Prefecture) is a Japanese volleyball player. She participated in two Olympic Games and won the bronze medal in 2012.

Career

Sano began her career at the Saga Kita High School of Kyoto Prefecture ( Kyotofu - ritsu Kita Saga Koto Gakko ). In 1998 she went to Unitika Phoenix and two years later she joined Toray Arrows. In 2002 she debuted in the Japanese national team, with whom she participated in the World Cup in Germany. The following year, Japan reached the second place in the Asian Cup. From 2004 to 2006, the Liberation played in France at RC Cannes. With the club, she won twice the double of league and cup. In 2006, Cannes is also the final of the Champions League. Then Sano returned to their homeland. With Hisamitsu Springs in 2007 it was a Japanese master. The national team won in the same year at the Asia Cup. In 2008, the Liberation reached the cup final with the club. In Beijing, they took part in the Olympic tournament, the Japan finished in fifth place after the quarter-finals. 2009 Hisamitsu Springs Cup winners and runners-up. With the national Sano took third place at the Asian Cup. The same result there was for Japan at the 2010 World Cup. During the same year Sano moved to Azerbaijan to Igtisadchi Baku. In 2011 she reached the final of the Asia Cup. A year later she played in London for the second time in the Olympics and won bronze.
