Yun Humyong

Yun Humyong ( born January 17, 1946 in Gangneung, Gangwon -do) is a South Korean writer.

Life

Yun Humyong was born in 1946 in Gangneung in Gangwon Province. 1956 the family moved because of the dislocation of his father, the judicial officer was in the military, to Daejeon and because of the military coup of 16 May 1962, when Park Chung -hee, on to Seoul. For Yun Seoul was a place where he felt strange and lonely, and his passion developed through this feeling for writing. First, he wrote poems and competed with his poetry and prose to writing activities in the school magazine, " Hakwon ". Against the father, who had always seen the Son as professional successor, he could not prevail, and studied law instead of Korean literature.

In 1965 he began studying philosophy at Yonsei University in Seoul. But his interest in philosophy was temporary. He associated with his literary friends, wrote more poems and enrolled as a guest student art school Seorabol to see the liberal, literary atmosphere can. 1967, when he was 21 years old, his poem was awarded the glacier bird with the award for young writers through the daily newspaper Kyunghyang Shinmun, and thus began his career as a writer. In 1969 he published the literary circle booklet " seventies " and began to work at the publishing house Samjungdang. In the following ten years, he worked at several publishing houses, while he wrote. In 1977 he published his first volume of poetry champion in archery.

After twelve years of poetic creation phase he began to write prose. His short story grave work was in 1979 awarded the prize for young writers by the Hankuk Ilbo newspaper. In 1980 he published the literature circle book " The Writer " and then published more stories, including Love in Dunhuang, All Stars play music, the memory of the Alhambra, which describe the urge to escape from the monotonous, suffocating life in the landscape of the antiquity and the mystical realm of fantasy to which aligns the human longing.

In the eighties, where the main stream of Korean literary landscape was characterized by realism, he created his extraordinary literary world that is not loaded directly from reality. He went on a world tour. Among other things, he was in 1983 as a member of the delegation from the Ministry of Culture and Information for a cultural trip to France, Italy, India, Indonesia and Singapore.
