Yury Lonchakov

Yuri Valentinovich Lonchakov (Russian Юрий Валентинович Лончаков, scientific transliteration Yuri Valentinovič Lončakov; born March 4, 1965 in Balkhash, Kazakh SSR, USSR ) is a Russian cosmonaut.

Yuri and his wife Tatiana to have a child.

Yuri Lonchakov joined after finishing school in 1982 the Soviet Air Force. He served as a parachutist and pilot and was accepted into the cosmonaut squad in 1997. His first spaceflight was aboard a Space Shuttle mission STS -100 with which visited the International Space Station. Lonchakov visited the ISS in 2002 with Soyuz TMA-1 a further visit.

Lonchakov was in the backup crew of the 18th long-term crew for the International Space Station. Beginning of May 2008 fell ill provided as commander Salizhan Sharipov and Lonchakov moved by. On 12 October 2008, he launched with Soyuz TMA -13 to the ISS, the return on April 8, 2009.

On September 6, 2013 it was announced that Lonchakov has terminated at Roskosmos and excretes 14 September. Until then, he was scheduled for a flight to the ISS as part of the ISS Expedition 44.
