Yvette Mimieux

Yvette Carmen Mimieux ( born January 8, 1942 in Los Angeles, California ) is a former American actress.

Life

She is the daughter of a French father and a Mexican mother. Mimieux was winner of a beauty contest and a popular photo model, as in 1959 a contract with MGM signed. Already for her first film role in the thriller island of sadists she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Young Actress. It was followed by two more nominations in 1965 and 1971, in which they, however, also missed out. In Germany it was particularly in the role of Weena known from the film adaptation of HG Wells 's novel The Time Machine from 1960, in which she plays the female lead role opposite Rod Taylor. Both played in 1968 in Katanga back together.

Mimieux was married from 1972 to 1985 with the film director Stanley Donen, 1986, she married the multi-millionaire Howard Ruby. She is a trained anthropologist.
