Yvonne Hijgenaar

Yvonne Hijgenaar ( born May 15, 1980 in Alkmaar ) is a Dutch cyclist.

Yvonne Hijgennar was interested in many sports as a teenager, initially started with handball, played tennis and operational speed skating. As a speed skater she managed the leap into the national squad.

2001 Hijgenaar bought a track bike for training purposes. For fun, she enrolled for a race on the track in Alkmaar and there fell at that time the Dutch " Bondscoach " Peter Pieters on, who invited her to train Training. Already in the same year she became Dutch champion in the time trial over 500m and in the sprint Second.

In the following years Hijgenaar won numerous national titles in the time trial, Keirin and Sprint. In 2005, she won at the track world championships two bronze medals in the time trial and keirin.
