Záblatí (Jindřichův Hradec District)

Záblatí ( German Sablat, older even Sablath ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 21 km north-east of the center of České Budějovice and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Záblatí is located on the territory of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Třeboňsko right side of the channel Zlata stoka between the large fish ponds fishpond Záblatský and Ponedrazsky fishpond.

Neighboring towns are Ponědraž in the northeast, Frahelž in the east, and Klec Lomnice nad Lužnicí the southeast, Smržov in the south, the west and Mazelov Lhotský Dvůr in the northwest.

History

Záblatí was first documented in the year 1358th The village was created at the end of the 13th century to the present mill. On the basis of found remains of walls can be concluded that at that time was a fortress or monastery at the site of the mill. The place was at that time largely to the reign of Zdeněk Lhota, whose seat was located at the site of monolayer Nosek. After Lhotas death came to reign Záblatí Lomnice and in 1430, slammed by the star salvors to Bechyně.
