Žďár (Mladá Boleslav District)

Zdar ( German Schdiar ) is a municipality with 1207 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is situated in 239 m asl and belongs to the Okres Mladá Boleslav.

Geography

The 1403 first mentioned venue located seven kilometers southwest of Turnov in the wide valley of the river Žehrovka on the northern edge of the Bohemian Paradise. South of the local part Příhrazy is the Felslabyrintht the Příhrazské rocks ( rocks Pschichraser ) with the ruins of the castle Hynšta.

Neighboring towns are Všeň in the northeast, Doubrava in the Northeast and Brezina in the West. West Zdar is affected by the European Route 65, the place is located on the railway from Turnov to Mnichovo Hradiště.

The municipality includes the districts Břehy Zdar ( lichens village), Doubrava ( Daubrawa ) Příhrazy ( Pschichras ) Skokovy ( Skokov ) and Žehrov ( Schechrow ).
