Zelewo

Zelewo ( German: Seelau, Kashubian: Zéléwò ) is a village in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the rural community Luzino ( Lusin, Freienau 1942-34, 1943-45 Lintzau ) in a circle Wejherowo ( Neustadt in West Prussia ).

Geographical location

Zelewo is located six kilometers north of the Polish national road 6 ( former German Reich Straße 2, now also European Route 28) between the cities Lębork ( Lauenburg in Pommern ) and Wejherowo ( Neustadt in West Prussia ). Station is the place Gościcino ( Gossentin ) on the railway line Stargard - Danzig of Polish State Railways. The sea coast is 22 kilometers.

History

Seelau belonged until 1919 to the district of Neustadt (West Prussia) in the district of Gdansk the Prussian province of West Prussia. Between 1920 and 1939 it was incorporated into Poland, and the western boundary of the municipality was also the German -Polish border to the Polish Corridor.

Between 1939 and 1945, Seelau back to the German Empire, and was assigned to the administrative district of Gdansk Danzig- West Prussia. Between 1940 and 1945, the municipality Seelau part of the administrative district Gossentin was (now Polish: Gościcino ), which included the neighboring communities Bohlschau ( Bolszewo ) Gohra ( Góra ), Gossentin, Kamlau ( Kębłowo ) and Worle ( Orle ). The competent registry office was in Kamlau, and the District Court in Neustadt in West Prussia ( Wejherowo ).

Since 1945, the back Zelewo place indicated is part of Gmina Luzino in powiat Wejherowski in the Pomeranian Voivodeship ( 1975-1998 Voivodeship Danzig).

Church

A church building there was never in Zelewo. Until 1919 and before 1945, the village belonged Seelau the evangelical parish Bohlschau (now Polish: Bolszewo ) in the parish of Neustadt in West Prussia ( Wejherowo ) - formerly in the church circle Dirschau ( Tczew ) - the church province of West Prussia the Church of the Old Prussian Union, and to which even today remaining Catholic parish Gohra ( Góra ) in the Dean's Office in the Archdiocese of Gdańsk Luzino the Polish Church.
