Zeppelin University (ZU) in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance is a nationally recognized and accredited by the Science Foundation high school.

Overview

The Zeppelin University has the legal form of a non-profit limited liability company and is called " University between economy, culture and politics " in order to emphasize the multidisciplinary according to their own self- nature of research and teaching. Shareholder is the TO Foundation, based in Friedrichshafen, Zeppelin is the Stiftungsgeberin Construction GmbH, Garching near Munich. Patron is the German General and airship designer Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin. Since 2007, the Zeppelin University is a foundation university.

The College was transformed from the International School for General Management under Dieter Giehmann the Zeppelin University in 2003. Shortly thereafter, Stephan A. Jansen took over the management. The TO is divided into three departments:

  • Corporate Management & Economics ( Economics )
  • Communication & Cultural Management ( management-oriented communication and cultural studies )
  • Politics, Administration & International Relations ( management-oriented policy and Administrative Sciences )

What is more, the course Sociology, Politics and Economics, offered since the summer semester of 2012. From 2007 to 2008 (up to the closure of the airport ) had the Zeppelin University in another location in the foyer of Tempelhof Airport, the " Institute of Aeronautics art of swimming ." 2008, the student-run radio station Welle20 went on the air.

Study

The applicants will be selected in a two-stage selection by the university: In addition to the written application a selection day with interviews, an assessment center as well as language testing takes place.

The course can be completed with the academic degrees of Bachelor of Arts and, both a consecutive, as well as not - a consecutive Master of Arts.

In the undergraduate program following statements are possible:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Management & Economics
  • Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Cultural Management
  • Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Administration & International Relations.

In the Master's program, the following statements are possible:

  • Master of Arts in Corporate Management & Economics
  • Master of Arts in Communication & Cultural Management
  • Master of Arts in Politics & Public Management.

The Executive Master program following degrees are currently available:

  • Executive Master of Arts in Digital Pioneering
  • Executive Master of Arts for Family Entrepreneurship
  • Executive Master of Arts in Retailing
  • Executive Master in Intersectoral Leadership & Governance ( starting September 2014 )

The tuition fees in both the Bachelor and Master program in about 3500-5000 euros per semester. Overall, the tuition fees for a bachelor's degree between € 29,600 and € 35,600 amount.

There are a number of grants from foundations and sponsors, such as the Vodafone Scholarship opportunities, and a special student loan from Sparkasse Bodensee, use the student -loan program that two-thirds of ZU students to finance tuition fees. With the beginning of the fall semester of 2011, the Zeppelin University provided all bachelor's degree programs to a normal period of 8 semesters. The additional year should be able to be used as " Humboldt year," especially the research stay at one of the partner universities. The Zeppelin University has to collaborations with the University of California, Berkeley, Sciences Po, with the Copenhagen Business School and Goldsmiths College.

On 10 September 2011, the TO were awarded limited to 5 years, the doctoral and postdoctoral rights. This permission was also connected to bear the title "university".

In career university rankings 2007/2008 business schools in the TO Friedrichshafen was number 8 in the list of top 25 universities economy.
