The river Zhang He (Chinese漳河) is the largest tributary of the Wei He (卫 河) in the catchment area of the Hai He (海河) in China. Its sources are located in the southeast of Shanxi Province, the two rivers Qingzhang He (清 漳河) and Zhuozhang He (浊 漳河) unite in the southwest area of Hebei and the river carries from there the name of Zhang He. He has a total length of 466 kilometers. In the period of Warring States Ximen Bao of the old state Wei was in the west of present-day Linzhang in Hebei twelve irrigation canals preferential unit ( the Shi'er under the name Ximen Bao Qu and Yin Zhang qu are known ), one of the earliest Chinese hydraulic engineering projects. 1960-1969 was built the water project of a red- flag - channel ( Hongqi qu ) on the upper reaches in a circle Lin (林 州市today Linzhou ). The Yuecheng Reservoir is located on its upper reaches ( Yuecheng Shuiku岳 城 水库), the source river Zhuozhang He flows through the Zhangze Reservoir ( Zhangze Shuiku漳 泽 水库).
